Say NO to fear!

Hello Friends,

   Here is a short video of what God ministered to me about NOT tolerating fear. I remember hearing Jimmy Evans from marriage today ministry say, "Fear is the devils faith". I also heard another pastor (Cornelius Lindsey) say that, " If it makes sense, it doesn't take faith". Let's make it a point to kick fear OUT of our house!!!

Got Contentment?

I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength. (Philippians 4:11-13 NIV)

God is Faithful. This is literally what I have experienced Him to be. We all have or will have our God Experience (what we know Him to be due to experience), mine is His Faithfulness!

The past 8 years or so God has taught me so much about contentment and I'm excited to share with you! In the past month God moved very quickly in my life in an area that was years in the making (8  1/2). I want to shout it from the mountain tops: "God is Faithful, He has not forgotten you! Instead of focusing on the blessing or answered prayer focus on Him, Love Him and Worship Him in the process! He can't fail you!" The reason we get so frustrated and are not content is because we take our eyes off of God and on the situation. I honestly believe that one of the reasons I had to wait so long is because God was waiting on me. Uh huh, that's right: My heart was not right before Him and therefore I was not ready!

There were mornings, days and nights of tears, anger, frustration, fear, shame and guilt just to name a few.The enemy even had me wondering if I was doomed or cursed. He (the devil) is a liar and He just wants our focus to be off the Lover of our Soul: Jesus!

Whether desiring marriage, a new job, house, ministry opportunities, wanting to know your purpose, a breakthrough, etc.  God wants us to seek Him with all our hearts, not the "things", even though those "things" may be very important.

What I have to share with you is no formula and no 3 step plan to get your blessing or find contentment. In Phillipians 4:11, Paul shared that he has LEARNED to be content no matter what state or season He is in. I'd like to say that I am learning daily.

Just yesterday, I went to a bridal shower for a precious and powerful Sister in Christ who is getting married in November. As I was sitting there with tears in my eyes as she was sharing her testimony, I could not help but think: "God you are SO Faithful", with joy in my heart. It was not always this way though. Because I too desire to be married, going to bridal showers used to be hard for me. Although I was smiling at the shower or wedding, I would sometimes go home sad or fearful that it would never happen for me, I would cry out to God and say, "When is it my time"!?? Overtime, if we continue to cling to God (and sometimes we will fall), but just pick yourself up and say, "Lord, I'm not letting you get rid of me", lol! As if He really wants to get rid of us in the first place.

If you are weary and tired in your wait and you want to move ahead in areas of your life, if you feel like you can't take it anymore and you have reached your limit, I speak this over your life: "You shall not die, but live, and declare the works of The Lord" (Psalm 118:17).

I honestly believe contentment is found in the bumps, bruises and pains in life. Sometimes, we have to go through the fire a little longer than others because God has to do a work IN us. Trust God, it is far better to feel temporary pain in God's process with His covering, than to go outside His will and feel pain He never ordained for you to go through without His covering.

Love you all and I pray this helps and encourages somebody. I am praying for you! You too will be able to share what The Lord has done and encourage others to trust in His Love!

***If your wondering what God did for me recently, He opened the door for me to be a school counselor. Something I have wanted to do for a while now. After years of interviewing and praying and a whole bunch of other stuff, I saw the manifestation of His promise! Thank you Jesus!!!

Messy Love

"Lord, your love is perfect; Especially when it seems like it is not".

This is what I wrote in my journal earlier today, after waking from a nap and feeling burdened and heavy about it being a holiday and desiring my own family (just keeping it real, I have my moments).

Can I share with you something I have learned personally about God's love; it's Messy. Yes I said it,it was  not a typo, lol! What I mean is that out of my life relationship with God, the most beautiful moments that I have experienced in relationship with Him has been birthed out of hot mess situations (undesirable, unpopular, lonely, seemingly dry, or consequences from our bad decisions)!

I can explain it best like this: Imagine, there is this well known Chief artist and He is preparing to premier His best art piece ever. Everyone is talking about it. Some are skeptical, some are excited, and some don't know what to expect. It is clear that this chief artist is SO excited about His premiere piece of artwork. He has put his blood, sweat, tears and heart into it. He makes it perfect not missing one stroke or painting. So here goes the public viewing and you are the star guest. The unveiling is about to take place, many have gathered to seen (some because they genually want to know and others just to see what the hype is all about). The chief artist comes in and greets everyone, He introduces his premiere piece and asks you to do the honors of unveiling this most precious artwork!!! Once it is unveiled,  It is quiet in the room some are looking in astonishment, others look disgusted and turn there nose up, then yet others are confused as to what it is or means! The chief artist asks you what you think, you don't want to hurt His feelings because He is so excited and overwhelmed with joy! To you, the premiere piece looks....... Messy. To you it has so many imperfections and things seem to be all over the place! The artist can see from your facial expression exactly how you feel, then He grabs your hand and says, " My love, let me explain. This is my most beautiful prized possession. I put my blood, sweat and tears into this. This is my LOVE for you and it is my MASTERpiece"!

If you can tell, the chief artist is God and we are His special guest He asked to do the unveiling. The painting is His love for us. See, the world has given us a shallow, easy and even selfish view of love. This is not Love though. A lot of the things we experience in life may seem a hot steamy mess and the way We see our lives is in the world's eye, so we try to deny it or even look at it in disgust. It may look messy and far from perfect to us. Although His love is perfect, when we are in the midst of trial or test it may not feel or look perfect because WE are not perfect. Only God and His love is.

 Stop trying to be perfect for the world, the world will never be satisfied. Receive God's "messy" Love, which is perfect through His eyes! Let's ask Him to show us our lives through His eyes! It will look completely different! <3

The Worship Leader of Your Home


Who is the Worship Leader of your home? Who is being Worshipped in your home?

This year, The Lord has really been pushing me to focus more on family and relationships. He has been leading me to spend more time with them, read and study the word with them, Worship and Praise The Lord with them; in the home!

What would we really be saying about our priorities if we are here, there and everywhere (even in ministry) but our home life is a mess? Family is important to God, how many scriptures does He give us guidance and instruction on marriage, parenthood, relationships, etc. Clearly family and our home life is important to Him. In a day where the family structure is under such an attack (LGBT movement, fatherlessness, rebellion against authority/Elders, abortion, etc). We need The Lord in our homes! Whether it's a single family household, a household with both parents, a single in the home; there needs to be a Worship Leader in the home.

Let's look at the first example and story of a family in the bible (Genesis). Adam and Eve where a family and their home was the Garden of Eden.  Now The Lord had given the Leader/Pastor (Adam) of their home instructions on how to live.

"but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.” (Genesis 2:17 NKJV)

Adam, the Leader and the Pastor of his home, had shared and led his family to obey the Lord's instructions until the enemy tempted His wife (Eve) to disobey God.

"Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, “Has God indeed said, ‘You shall not eat of every tree of the garden’?” And the woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said, ‘You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die.’ ” Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.” So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings. (Genesis 3:1-7 NKJV)

Why didn't the serpent go through the Leader/Pastor of the home which was Adam? He is crafty and chose the Worship Leader of the home, which was Eve. He knew how much of an influence she had on her Husband and home.

Eve was God's ordained helpmeet to Adam. The NLT translation of Genesis 3:6 says that "The woman was convinced" after the serpent tempted her.  A Worship Leader should lead others/compel them to Worship the true and living God! Satan tempted Eve to Worship something other than God, she was convinced and then shared it to her husband.

We can learn a lot from this family. I'm not by any means saying that all Worship Leaders in the home are always women.  What if there is not even a woman in the home?

God desires Worship and we can only Worship in Spirit and in Truth! How can we lead our family's into Worship The Lord? I believe it starts in our prayer closet. See Eve was listening to the wrong person (the serpent). How many times have we made the same mistake?  We need to go to God and hear His heart regarding our families. Repent, Watch and pray. If there is something that He identifies is a hindrance from our family Worshipping The Lord together in our home, we need to pull that thing down in the name of Jesus! 

Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Luke 10:19 I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Let's go to war and allow God to restore Worship unto HIM in our homes with our family!

False gods (Part 1)

"You shall have no other gods before me.You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.
Exodus 20:4

It is amazing how this blog was started to talk about Praise and Worship Dance and Praise and Worship is still by all means the purpose of it; however if we truly want to Worship God in Spirit and in truth, If we really want to go deeper in Him, if we want to experience true Victory and Freedom there are just some things or even people that we cannot take with us. God desires pure Worship. Idols is a word that is used very lightly nowadays. We have shows named after it, we tell people they are our idols and even others have called us an idol. Let me share with you a general definition of an idol or a False god: Whatever you love more than God is your idol. Anything you put before God is an idol. Anything you worship other than the True and Living God is an idol.

Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” Proverbs 4:23

Many would not admit that we worship a person, place or thing, however we must always do a heart check and our heart will tell us if someone or something is an idol. If something tugs on our heart more, if we “can’t live without” someone or something, or if we go to something more than we do Christ; more than likely an idol has been placed in our heart.

We were created to Worship; so everyone is bowing down to or Worshipping something/someone, even if it is themselves. And as the saying goes, “The proof is in the pudding”. We could be serving in ministry, we could be over many churches, in prestigious organizations, have the best relationships and our hearts be filled with idols.

This is not to condemn anyone, but it is to convict us to do better. Let me share a testimony with you about myself:

Last year (2012) was a year that the Lord revealed a TON of idols I had in my heart; people, success, work, relationships, etc. It’s not that these things in themselves are bad things, but a “good” thing can be used to turn our hearts from God and become an idol if we are not always in communion and intimate relationship with him Holy Spirit. One of the biggest for me was people and the Lord gave me this revelation not too long ago; “You have to be free from people to love them”. Basically if you are bound by what others think of you and you base your life on that; you will not be who God created you to be, you won’t be honest with them and you won’t allow yourself to be authentic because you’re so focused on pleasing everyone or making your life decisions based on what they are saying. This is an idol.

So, what has and IS STILL helping me remove the many idols out of my heart: pouring my heart out to Christ. The devil would love to distract us with business, sleepiness or foolishness however we gotta make time to pour our hearts out to the Lord. He is SO AMAZING and He wants to help us and free us and draw us closer to Him. He is not unforgiving or condemning God; He is a Loving Father and He is immeasurable! Whew, so this is our assignment for this week. Let us make it a point to sit at the feet of Jesus everyday this week(Praise Him- you can do this by singing, telling Him how great He is, dancing to a Praise or Worship Song, reading the Psalms aloud that lift Him up and Praise Him; Repenting- turning from our sins; Confession- asking for forgiveness for known and unknown sins); Reading and meditating on the word- This is an important one too, we gotta know His word about every situation. When the situation/problem arises search what scripture says about it and of course developing a prayer life with God) This is not a end all be all list, but it’s a good start!

Love you all and let’s get rid of those idols out of our heart!

PURITY- What is this thing ALL about???

I wanted to share with you all a testimony of God's Faithfulness; I'm not a virgin. I did not wait until marriage to have sex for the first time. Even when I made a decision to be abstinent, I was not sexually pure (there is a huge difference). God was and STILL IS doing a work in me. I can't change that part of my life, it happened and it's real. BUT GOD. I'm not sharing this to spill my business out on the streets. It's just that I know and have seen first hand God's transformation power in an area that I used to feel very casual about. Now, I was not always comfortable sharing this area of my life, but thank God for showing me that He has blessed me so that I can be a blessing to others!

In my late teens/ early 20s is where God began to tug on my heart regarding purity. I don't even know if I knew it was Him doing the tugging. It just began to tug in my heart, that there was more. At this time, I really did not have much of a relationship with the Lord even though I was brought up in a traditional church. I would go to church and be in intimate with the person I was dating, with little conviction. Everyone around me was doing the same and so; I just thought it was the norm.

After going through a horrible break up (it literally wrecked me for about a year), that's when the pages began to turn in my life. I don't even know if I had heard about purity before this. If I did, I probably thought it was something for people back in the 19th century and not me. "You mean to tell me, you expect for me to wait to have sex until marriage and give my life to You, surrender my body and I'm an African American young women who likes hip hop, clubbing and following my friends"?! Yes.

There is a difference between religion and relationship. God wants the latter and it's much higher to have relationship with Him. He desires for us to desire an intimate and personal relationship with Him! THIS and this alone is what changed me; my relationship with Him.
"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." James 4:8

It was not until, I began to have a personal love relationship with the Lord, that I GOT IT. Honestly this year, I was having a conversation with the Lord and I told Him I finally understand why He has required His sons and daughters to walk in purity (it's more than just not have sex). I have and still am going through deliverance in areas of my life because of my disobedience. It's not anything spooky, we need to be delivered as we continue in this walk with the father. He does not want us bound or chained up with strongholds and struggles.

My prayer for you and for all of us is that we will pursue holiness. It is possible with God and remember it's a process. Just please don't give up and know that you are not alone. He is with you and He is your help. Thank you Lord!
