Worship and Witness- Who is He to you?

As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, "No. go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been." Mark 5:18-19

Has something that was familiar to you before, suddenly become something NEW to you? Something that you have seen or heard before, but suddenly you had an understanding of it unlike before? That's how I feel about this scripture!

You may or may not be familiar with this story, when Jesus cast demons out of a man who was possessed by thousands of demons. This man was literally tortured by these demons and he lived among the burial caves, because nobody new how to deal with him. He was literally out of control! (I would really encourage you to read Mark 5:1-20 when you get a chance).

Well the reason I am even writing about this is because I was asked to be the guest of a friends' class. The class that she is teaching at church is a 13 week class on "Growing in Christ", where foundational scriptures of the Christian Faith are learned. This was their last class before the final exam! This week they were discussing Mark 5:19 the scripture above. I was asked to minister this scripture through dance.

Just today, the day of the class I was lead to read the whole chapter Mark to read the story leading up to the main scripture (Mark 5:19). I was and AM amazed at the new revelation that God blessed me with! You see earlier today, as I was seeking the Lord about the song He wanted me to minister this scripture through, He lead me to a Worship song. In my mind I was like, "Lord this scripture is about witnessing, why would you want me to do a Worship song instead of a Witness song". WELL, after reading the chapter of Mark He made it quite clear to me. Hallelujah!

So we see in this text, this was a man that many where scared of and did not dare to go near. Mark even talks about how this man would wander day and night howling and cutting himself with sharp stones. See, these demons were controlling and ruling this man's body; BUT GOD! Jesus cast those evil spirits out of that man (mind you there were thousands, can you imagine!)!

The reason this has everything to do with witnessing is because in verse 19 after the man was set free from those demons and he was perfectly sane, Jesus told Him to go home to his family and tell them everything the Lord had done for Him. You see this man's Witness was effective now because he himself had a personal understanding of WHO CHRIST WAS AND IS (this is Worship)! He was not witnessing because of momma and em's testimony or because of grandpappa's sermon; but He had his own personal understanding from his own personal experience with Christ!

We can learn a whole lot from this true story and event that actually happened: The Lord gives us our own experiences to share with other's so that they may be drawn to Him! After Jesus told him to go home and share; he went to ten town's and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them!

I don't know about you, but at times I have struggled with witnessing and evangelism because I tried to do it in a way that other's told me to do it. I have learned that it is much more genuine when I start off with my testimony, then others are drawn to Jesus and I can share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ! Worship and Witness should go hand and hand. He has promised in His word that when HE is lifted up HE will draw all men unto HIM (John 12:32).

So my friend I ask you today, Who is He to you? What is your personal understanding of Him? Whom do you know Him to be? Has He healed you, set you free, comforted you? Think about it and let's make it A POINT to share it with others to open the door to witness, God will lead you if you let Him!

(These ribbons were used during the dance I ministered at the class tonight, God laid it on my heart to lay these ribbons around the ladies during the dance because each one meant something special for each of them).

The Spirit of Bitterness (short recording)

Hola Familia!

I pray that all is well with you and your family and that you are Hotly Pursuing Jesus! He is the way. This is a short 16 minute recording on Bitterness and the dangers of it. This is something that the enemy uses to divide us and make us ineffective. I want to encourage you, as I encourage others that God wants us to confess ALL to Him! He looks at the heart. Time is up for sweeping things under the rug, we have to let Him DEAL with it. THEN we can be the worshipers that John 4:23-24 talks about.

Listen hear:

Love you all, but He loves you even more :-)

Called by God! (special song for you)

Jeremiah 1: 4-8
"The word of the Lord came to me, saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you as a prophet to the nations." Ah, Sovereign Lord," I said, " I do not know how to speak; I am only a child." But the Lord said to me, "Do not say, I am only a child. You must go to everyone I send you to and say whatever I command you. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you, declares the Lord".

How many times have we thought like Jeremiah, when we knew God wanted us to do something or called us to do something, we had the "I'm too" excuse? I'm too young, I'm not smart enough, I'm tired, I just don't know if I can do it, I'm not ready, on and on and on".

The Lord made it clear to Jeremiah and it is clear to us: it's not about us! He knew about us before we were even formed in our mother's womb. This says to me that when He did form us in our mother's womb, he took the time to include everything we would need to accomplish the call He has on our individual lives!

God quickly responded to Jeremiah and responds to us to not tell Him what we can or cannot do. Our creator and Lord knows exactly what we are built to do. We may not think it makes sense and we wont understand it all, but we MUST go, we MUST do, we MUST be all He has called us to be.

I encourage each of you, as I encourage myself to seek the Lord like never before. Ask Him, what is it that He would have for your life this season. He will respond. We are not to be afraid to do His will, for He is always with us and will rescue us. Now, let's go, let's do, let's be!!!

My desire passionately is to be what you've called me to be!

What is your priority? A charge for us!

Praise the Lord brothers and sisters in Christ! I just have to share with you something that has been on my heart for months now; I'm sure I am not the only one! Actually I know, that I am not. No matter where I go, what teaching I hear or what conversations lead to, it's all the same conclusive question: Is my priority God's priority? (Matthew 6:33)

It's just as simple as this: Our being saved, being CHRISTians is not about us. It's not about only having "the American dream", and being happy with us and ours and watching others Spiritually dead and dying, die away without ever reaching out. God's voice is so clear with this: we must witness, we must share the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The last thing that Jesus told us to do, before he left the earth is this:

"Go then and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching everything that I commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days to the very close and consummation of the age." Matthew 28:16-20

The world is crying out, it's obvious; searching for an answer and for fulfillment. We carry that answer within us everyday, but we cannot just let it sit there. We have to share it. It is time to break the chains of fear of "offending" others or "being comfortable". It's not about being comfortable, but it's about putting the Kingdom of God first and sharing, as well as living the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

There is good news: It is not too late for us! Let us begin to seek God and seek Him with all our heart, we will surely find Him. Let us allow God to tell us what is on His heart and what His priority is in this time. I feel such a sense of urgency with this. I'm telling you, God has already placed it in us to do this! Greater is He that is in us than He that is in the world. If God be for us who in this world can be against us? We must seek the Lord and Go!

Isn't He worthy to be shared, worthy of excitement? We share so many things with loved ones, co-workers, strangers, etc. about our lives. We must share the most important in our life with them too! You will be surprised of their response. A lot of people want to know (whether they know it or not)! Let's win souls for Jesus Christ now! Hallelujah!

Love you all God bless!

Jaw Dropping Miracles!

God specializes in jaw dropping, head scratching, only God could have done it miracles! Yes He does. I just wanted to share that with you, encourage you as well as encourage myself today! Let us not become complacent in old ways of thinking. Let’s not look at each day as “just another day”. No, God has us here for a reason, for many people did not wake up this morning. I personally know of a young lady, 23 yrs old who did not wake up this week. We were praying for her healing and for her not to get worse. I believe God answered our prayers, but not just in the way we thought he would. I shared that to say, because you woke up this morning: know that THE Lord has something for us today.

You are not just here to waste away until your time here on earth is up. No, Almighty has a plan and a purpose for you. Do not despise small beginnings. A lot of times when circumstances seem bleak and it seems that things are dry and bare in our lives, we need to saturate our days with praise and worship to the Lord! He inhabits it. Also, I want to encourage us to seek God with all our heart and He has promised that we will find Him. Our God is not by any means ordinary and He is the same God that held back rain for 3 years, then brought rain again because of the prayers of Elijah. The same God that Hannah prayed for a son, but after she sought Him with all her heart, he gave far beyond just 1 son, but many! The same God that allowed David to be so Victorious in every battle, not because he was perfect, but because David always inquired of the Lord. Yes, this is the same God that we serve!

So, do not be weary in your well doing. Now is a time to rejoice in the Lord! Expect Him to answer both small and big prayers. He wants to do miracles in our lives so that others can and will be drawn to us and we will draw them to King Jesus!

Let’s expect Jaw Dropping Miracles this year, right now!

Rejoice! because of this......

Luke 10: 17-20

The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”

Sometimes, we rejoice over the wrong things :-). Hear me out. This familiar text sticks out like a sore thumb to me. Can you imagine, going out in the fields to different towns; healing the sick and laying hands on strangers full time throughout the day and the Lord doing great signs and wonders through you? Well, He certainly desires to do the same today and I know the times that the Lord has used me in great ways, I got excited! This I believe is normal, we can easily get excited about being used by God, I mean He's AMAZING! But this jumped out to me today because despite of all the miraculous and great and mighty things that were happening through Jesus' disciples, He told them to rejoice that their name is written in the Lambs book of Life!

Hallelujah! Sometimes, we can get caught up in the "works" and forget to ALWAYS rejoice in the one who enables us to do the work! I mean, doesn't this excite you?! I mean picture it today us talking to Jesus: "Lord, Hallelujah little Johnny was healed instantly and we just prayed for him this morning." "Jesus"!!!, "Teresa gave her life to you after hearing the sermon preached on Sunday". "Lord, that mans foot was instantly restored right before our eyes as we worshiped you". Jesus replies, " That's great my son, my daughter, but even the more Rejoice that your name is written in Heaven".

Although the gifts of the Spirit are powerful and God gives gifts to whom He desires, but even more than this; we can always Rejoice in Him.

So, I encourage you my brother and sister in all things; REJOICE!

Single Season- All the Glory Belongs to God!

Matthew 5:13-16 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. "

This is the 3rd installment of the Single Season blog. I felt compelled to complete it before the end of the year. This scripture says it all. You may wonder, what does this have to do with the single season? A LOT!

Sometimes our desire to be married can become an idol if we are not careful and in our single season, we are so worried about when or if we will ever get married, that we don't maximize all that God has for us in this season. One of my biggest breakthroughs this year is reaching contentment. Of course the desire is still there and I actually look forward to being married, but it's no longer on the forefront of my mind. I now realize that I must give my all in EVERY season!

The reason for this scripture in this post is that it is a reminder to us that God has an assignment for us right now. He loves us SO much! Could you imagine our Father, trying to get our attention and show us all these wonderful things that he desires to do in and through our lives and here we are staring at one situation we want to change and missing out on all the other great things he has given us now!

We are the light of the world and the salt of the earth, people need what you have! There are souls to be saved, sicknesses to be healed, children to be raised, families to be set free, books to be written, businesses to be started, we could go on and on.

People are indeed watching us and not everybody is going to step up in a church to get saved. We are the church and God has called us to let our light shine in dark places! He called us out of darkness and into His wonderful light, so that others could receive that light too!

Brothers and sisters, I am here to tell you:

IT IS TIME TO SHINE!!!

Be encouraged and know that Almighty has not forgotten you. He promises when we Seek first His Kingdom and Righteousness that All these things shall be added unto us. He promises no good thing will he withhold from those whose walk is uprightly, He promises that you will not suffer shame, nor will you be humiliated! I am praying for you dear heart and I love you, but Jesus loves you SO much more!

God bless and Happy New Year!
